Last running of the yearly
took place also as in the last year on the Grand Prix Cours in Monza.
Well prepared for both lining up running, on Saturday 90 minutes running Endurance and on Sunday 30 minutes the Sprintrennen, we referred our box our motivation got a thrust as we saw again that the box neighbour with Don Law Racing, the driver of this year cathedrals of the Judd in Le Mans and Le Mans? Winner, Andy Wallace was.
With first time training I
had vibrations at the end of the fast straight lines within the tail range. We
could eliminate these by a change of the shock absorbers and the tail wing.
Second training ran at the
beginning of as desired. Round for round I became faster until then when
shifting up 5. on the 6. Course with approx. 280 km/h the engine howled briefly
and the propulsion away was. I unrolled. With the diagnosis in the box we had to
state that the Flyweel was broken. In well-known kind packed all team members
on, in order to eliminate the error within the 2.5 hours the available. When
adjusting to us a suitable spacer was missing to the clutch, so that we
exchanged these against another, which cost us much time. Thus we could not
place the racing cars up to the start of first running completely. In the
evening I drove a free training then together with the Porsche Cup problem-free.
The weather on Sunday
morning turned out much change detention and it suggested itself approx. 45
minutes before the start that we get a rain running. We change the set UP and I
took up a running of starting point 7. With very strong rain I forged ahead in
the initial phase at place 4. After I had also late place 3 and king tried,
stated to come past I the Porsche von Martyn that it was impossible, since this
developed a Gischt, which took any view to me on the long straight lines. An
overhauling attempt I could not afford, because if I had turned thereby and the
engine thereby had gone out, I would have had no more possibility by the changed
Flyweel for starting.
At the end I reserved 3 and in the class valuation seat 2 in the total valuation place.

C/GTP
As
announced the Group C/GTP running took place in the context Porsche of the Cup
on the A1 ring in Austria of 29.-31.08.2003.
On
Friday I let free training fail due to strong rain. With first training on
Saturday was again rain, but I could find problem-free the correct set UP and
pull training through.
With the
following Qualifying the distance was drying. We stopped the set UP according to
experience and I could the third starting point for running drive out.
In the late afternoon with the flying start of running I moved forward briefly at place two. After the first curve I shifted and it up gave an impact in the transmission. In view of thereupon the following irregularities in the drive strand, I to the box and we drove had the whole night with the repair of the transmission to do.
Sunday
mornings had I with wet race (rain-run) from the last place to start.
Systematically I forged ahead up to the half of running at place 3. With the
very strong rain my windshield started ever more, so that I had a Ausritt with
strongly reduced view in the further process of running in the gravel bed and me
three times braked.
Running
terminated I at place 6 and in the class at place 3.
Group
C GTP
We had the third Group C/GTP
running from 25. to 27. July in Donnigton park/England. Typically English the
weekend began with rains. With free training on Friday I found a good set UP,
which brought in the seventh time for me. However with time training in the
afternoon, with partial of wetter and partly drying distance, I had
difficulties a good time to realize, so that I drove out the twelfth starting
point. This position was valid for both running. The warm UP on Saturday
morning with dry distance ran to my satisfaction.
With the 1. Run myself in the
afternoon could I continuously of 12. Place up to the 4. Place pre-work.
Briefly before end of running more easily drizzle began to begin. With the
Rausbeschleunigen from a curve, I was somewhat too early at the gas, so that I
turned and feststeckte with the rear wheels in the gravel bed, which
unfortunately meant the end of running.
On Sunday mornings with the
warm UP I tested a somewhat harder tire set, since the tires were damaged by
the vortag. In running, again of 12. Place out started, I worked myself on the
6. Place forwards, where I could terminate a running also after 40 min. On the
whole we were content with the meeting, since we rausgeholt everything which
were possible and we had to fight with a very strong competition, as for
example with the sports car professional John Nielsen.
The meeting took place in the
context of the DTM and was well visited of spectators. The Group C running was
transferred among other things in the British television and excerpts were
radiated by DSF and euro sport.

Group C/GTP
We
began the running season 2003 on the Lausitzring on 29 March 2003 with one
test weekend. We tested a new tail wing and a new front hood. The changed
aerodynamics functioned as planned. Suddenly before leaving the box oil
pressure fluctuations arose, on which we the attempts broke off.
For
the season start in the Belgian Spa? Francorchamps, that on weekend of 02. -
04 May 2003 instead of found, presented themselves again an unexplainable oil
pressure problem. Whereby us a participation in running one defeated.
Personally I hope that my misfortune series is final now in Spa, since I could
not participate three times one behind the other in running. Afterwards the
engine was completely examined and repaired. For temporal reasons thereby
running was not possible in Silverstone.
Of 20.
- 22 June 2003 was a further Group C/GTP meeting in the Belgian Zolder. The
weather was summer and first free training ran promisingly. Above all the new
aerodynamics fit exactly on the distance. With the rausfahren to first time
training we were met nearly by the shock, as despite more precise Work the oil
pressure repeats was too low and I not to ride along could. To the repair I
drove 2. Time training, whereby after six rounds the oil pressure began to
vary and I broke off.
On Saturday afternoon could I
after a further repair of the place in running start. At the end I occupied
edge universe place 3 after a hard fight with the Porsche 962 by nod. Winner
became Ralf Kelleners on Porsche 962 CK6 before Nigel James on a Spice.
When second running on Sunday I
started from place 3. As in first running I supplied with with the Porsche 962
of nod myself and Chris edge universe exciting position fights. In the last
third my rear tires and also the oil pressure, which I kept the whole time in
the eye, diminished became in slow curves less. After 40 minutes I terminated a
running at place 6.
Due to the continuous oil
pressure problem a participation is posed on the Lausitzring still in question,
but Donnigton park is firmly planned.
