Running Reports 2005

Running Report Silverstone 2005

After running in fire Hatch the next Group C/GTP running from 29.-31 July in Silverstone took place.
Our preparations began immediately after last running in Brands Hatch. With the fact we had to state that the oil pressure for normal conditions was too low. The error could not be found despite direct pressure examination and inspect of release Valves, to still break itself open so that we decided at the night, in order to become before digit on Monday mornings with Judd. There inspected we with expert Inge neurons the engine and stated that abrasion of the main warehouse was in the oil circulation. Now it became clear that we could not use the engine in Silverstone. Thereupon we assigned another Engine builder the reserve engine, which should actually to the Rebuild, to submit to a Quick check whether we can drive thereby into Silverstone. We could expect an answer to it only against Wednesday evening. The answer was positive. Against 22.00 o'clock we made ourselves on the way from central England to south England, in order to insert on Thursday early the reserve engine there. But the breakdown series should not tear off. On half way a wheel bearing went defectively at our Trailer, at whatever we had to before change already 2 tires and before it, to the loss of our cold box in the Van, still another screw in the tire were briefly. Without Trailer and racing cars we continued to drive to our goal, which we reached early at 3.00 o'clock. To all misfortune we could surround the beds in the Van because of a broken operating spring hardly. Owing to the large assistance of our friend we could reach Phil Price, which strove intensively for a wheel bearing, let a nut for the Trailer manufacture and had finished us the reserve engine, on Thursday evening Silverstone. Approx.. we began to build the engine to 19,00 o'clock in a lining up nightshift into the racing car, which succeeded to us also until Friday early 10,00 o'clock at free training.
After the first two rounds I had to already again state that the engine brought not the full achievement and out of round ran. The diagnosis pointed to a defective Half Point sensor. I made myself immediately on the way, in order to get one with Judd. Meanwhile frank the sensor removed and Karl Heinz the Argo for the Qualifying prepared, tightened frank that the sensor was not defective and we had probably used a wrong screw in the stress.
By these actions I did not have any time the distance to visit and me on the Qualifying before-broad. Thus I began to study the distance during the Qualifying. For running on Saturday I could under 26 starters the 11. Starting point occupy.
On Friday evening got I still some good Tipp's of experienced English running drivers, like Michael Christopher and Nigel James.
Good hope and motivates by the strongly occupied spectator's stands went I on Saturday into running. I tried immediately to before-fight themselves and improve my position. With the attempt on Nick Rini to go past, withdrew I three times, until he paid duty himself then in a slow curve and came far outward. I remained very far inside, in order to have and inside overhaul in the next curve of the Woodcote the better line.
My plan seemed to come up. it was very far left outside at the Curbs and I on same height of two widths of vehicle further right toward the Poller. Suddenly however it pulled without into the mirror to look inward, affected me centrically at the racing car, I was right over here pressed so there and with approx. 210 Km/h nearly frontally into the guidance bright hit.
The Argo was very strongly damaged and my right leg was strongly bounced, so that I had occasionally a nerve disturbance in the right foot.
Due to the events I must the running season 2005 in the Group C/GTP unfortunately terminate.
For the coming season the large challenge places itself to develop the racing car again again and to secure the financial arrangement by sponsors for me and my team.
If this should succeed to me, it is my largest desire to start again in the Group C/GTP which is written out for the first time in 2006 as champion chip and for which I made myself long time strong.

Running Report Brands Hatch 2005

After the Nuerburgring we traveled in the middle of July after Brands Hatch to England. The meeting found of 23. - 24. July in the context of the Brands Hatch Superprix instead of. Before we had inserted a freshly revised engine. And on Friday an additional free training booked.
At the racing car we stopped the set UP from the previous year, which had worked satisfactorily as successful. After the first two training rounds I had to state that the engine did not run cleanly in the upper speed range. After the well-known symptoms, which actually encountered with an engine tested on the test stand lack of understanding, we decided nevertheless the crankshaft sensor to exchange itself. In addition we had to remove the engine. While to this time a team member drove to us admitted engine tuning man, in order the appropriate parts, from which we knew exactly that these function, to get. The parts had to be removed by the engine, which we had delivered one day before to the Rebuild. Thus we lost complete training on Friday. Into the late evening inside we tried to bring the engine back to running. Against 20:30 o'clock we accomplished a test run, with which there were no objections, except a warning by the Security because of to large volume after 18:00 o'clock on Saturday mornings drove I as one first to the Qualifying out. Frightening way did not run the engine again with full achievement, so that I could not drive times and the Qualifying had to break off. In co-operation with a Judd Engine builder we tried to eliminate the error. We examined the mechanics of the engine, inspected the complete electrical installation and exchanged caution for the sake of all sensors still remained. In the afternoon I had then running of 23. Starting point out take up. Briefly after the start I was inspired, the engine ran fantastic and I could directly some places good make. Up to the half of running I seemed to 7 up to place. In the last third irregularities in the engine run reset themselves, so that I could not hold the speed any longer and permanently dropped back.
At place 15 I terminated a first running on this weekend. At the box arrived, examined we after a long-term assumption again the battery, which 100% seemed to be correct. Few minutes later in the box we tried to start again, which did not function however, since the battery had only 6 V at the time. After astonished measurements the battery had approx. 5 minutes later the full tension and the engine started. Thereupon it was clear that a very mysterious error of the battery is present here, which we exchanged.
On Sunday I had to go again from the last starting point into running. Due to the weather conditions we decided to be started as 95% of the teams, with rain tires. The rain came to meet me much and I could very many places from the outset win and drove up to 6. Place forwards. In the last quarter hour it had to rain stopped improving or not holding the distance ever drier, for which my tires no more was suitable, in order the position. I terminated a running at place 9.

Running Report Nuerburgring 2005

Of 24. - 26 June 2005 we had a running with the Group C/GTP on the Nuerburgring. Well prepared we went on Friday into the free training, with which we rehearsed a changing a tire under others and new Slicks started.
At 16.30 o'clock began then the Qualifying, with which I drove as the first gentleman out. To six rounds I went the first time to the box for a check UP. To further four rounds I drove because of increased water temperature, which with a heat of 35°C is not unusual, to the box installed there we with success Gurney Flaps to the watercooler.
At the end of the training I had the third best time behind 962 a Porsche and a Spice.
On Saturday after noon I started three and much briefly after the start at place four from place back. After further three rounds I overhauled Jim Mullen in its 6.4 L Spice Chevrolet. In the further process of running my Argo became ever better and I could my time opposite the Qualifying by 3.2 seconds improve. I overhauled the secondly place David Mercer and put briefly before end of Nigel James for overhauling rightfully. Which I did not know at the time that I drove the fastest time of running into round nine. Then the terrible happened to five rounds before conclusion: During the over roundness a slower driver in the rear view mirror surveyed me and pulled in a right curve inward, whereby he away-tore me the front hood. Thus to me the contact pressure on the front axle, the aerodynamics was missing was disturbed and the water temperature rose, so that I had to terminate a running prematurely and at place thirteen was rated. By this action we had on Sunday to late into the night plentifully work.

On Sunday I started again from place three and dropped back to place four. Since I had to begin with a relatively strongly used tire set and because one had been damaged the one the new in first running.
After five rounds the tires develop slowly an useful Grip and I back at place three drove. To short before end I knew on the fourth place a projection/lead of 6 seconds to drive out. I had the Nigel James driving in second place already in the visor, came however because of the over roundness however not into an impact distance. The i point in a much promising, in addition, difficult weekend was that I interconnected myself a half round before end of running when applying brakes gently the Dunlop elbow and slipped crosswise. In this time the fourth place Jim Mullen approached to me and used the second, in order to pass me. I terminated a running at place four.

Group C/GTP News:
